O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

This year we decided to get our tree Thanksgiving weekend. We've never gotten it this early, but our December calendar was so crazy we decided to go ahead and get it because the next chance we had was the week of Christmas.

We started a tradition when Nolan was 2 of going to Elgin Tree Farm to cut down our own tree. So this was our 4th year to go. It was actually COLD the day we went which is always exciting because it's really hard to get in the Christmas spirit when it's 85+ degrees outside. So, we get to Elgin and go eat BBQ (yum) and when we come out of the restaurant it is RAINING!! By the time we drive down the road to the farm, it is POURING!! So, we sit in the truck waiting for the rain to stop, which it actually never did. But it finally slowed to such a light drizzle we decided to make a run for it.

Toby and I and our little bundles boarded the tractor trailer to be transported to the designated area for tree cutting. I was praying the whole way we wouldn't get stuck out there in more pouring rain. Thankfully we didn't get another hard shower until we were back at the main entrance where we could take cover.

So despite the rain, we found the perfect tree - our biggest ever, over 7 feet tall !! And we had a great day!
