So, with all the other weather reports we've had this winter where we were supposed to get snow, and then we didn't, I did not put much faith in last night's report that we would get 1-3 inches of snow today. However, the snowflakes started around 7:45am just as I was taking Nolan to school. It turned out to be more of a sleet/rain mix than snow by the time we got back and I got the girls dressed to go outside, but Madi was SURE she was playing in the snow! She went to school in her mud boots just in case they got to go outside (which she was thrilled to report to me when I picked her up that they did!).
THEN, around 10:00am, it really did start to snow! And the snowflakes were HUGE! It was beautiful, and I was sad that my kiddos were at school and not at home with me enjoying it.
By 11:30 when I got the messages from both Nolan & Madi's schools that they were having early release, it was snowing hard. As I carried Morgan into the school to pick up Nolan, she kept saying "Brrr, brrrr."
When we got back home, all 3 of them enjoyed playing in the glorious white stuff for all of about 5 minutes!! Then they were complaining it was too cold! So we had to go in and have some hot cocoa. And I'm thinking now that we also need a fire.
